Grab your paints and pencils and let's check-in
Lots of little things in this Substack! Updates on the Spiritual Being Open House Series, an epic deal on single session coaching in November, and some pictures from an art show I participated in this month! Thanks for being here.
A relaxing, chill way to process what’s happening in your life…
AND a fun, low-pressure art session.
Sound like just what you need?
This week I facilitated the first Art + Astrology workshop as part of the Spiritual Being Open House Series and the recording and resources are sent to you when you sign up for the series here!
Here’s what one attendee had to say about the experience:

Plus when join open house series you’re invited to join the Samhain Ceremony in November for free! 🎃🧡🔮
The Samhain Ceremony is an opportunity to build your seasonal altar, connect with your human and non-human ancestors, and receive a supportive message you can return to throughout the holiday season.
I was in a collaborative art show!
During the summer of 2023 I used my Creative Visioning process to intentionally manifest a chapter of my life I was really excited about.
Something I scripted and visioned about at length was drawing with people in coffee shops and working on collaborative art projects.
Exactly one year later @see.saw.draw entered my life and my vision came to reality. This fall I participated in a collaborative art show called Seed Scoops in My Drive. If you are local to Des Moines, the whole show is on display through November 28 at the Polk County Heritage Gallery.

Does emotional processing feel like a job you’re always running late to?
Something I hear from *all* of my clients is that they need to set aside time to process their emotions… and they just don’t have time for it.
Between going to work, taking care of pets/parents/kiddos, and nurturing your other intimate relationships, it can feel impossible to stay connected to your personal feelings.
A lot of people who work with me have been in a lifelong pattern of numbing or avoiding emotions until they build up to a point where they feel like they’re drowning.
I say this with love:
Processing should not be a full-time job.
Healing should not be a full-time job.
If processing your emotions is something you need to go on a retreat for… then it’s time for a change.
While setting aside uninterrupted time to process your emotions is a great idea, I’ve seen over and over again with my 1:1 clients that you can process your emotions more effectively through 15-30 minute exercises that change the way you talk to yourself forever instead of an entire weekend of being alone and journaling.
Even if you’re neurodivergent.
One simple shift I help my clients make is the way you talk to yourself about the feelings you’re having.
Rather than saying, “I’m so angry that my coworker never carries her weight! But I can’t let myself feel this frustration because it will completely consume me. I just have to put a smile on my face and keep going!”
How would your attitude change if you could hold space for that anger and leave the frustrating interaction saying, “I’m so angry and that’s okay. I’m so angry and this is a normal part of being human.”
If you’ve been conditioned to feel like your emotions are too much, a problem, and that your reactions to things are over the top or not normal, you might not have learned how to allow yourself to experience authentic emotions while not becoming enmeshed with the emotion or taking it on as permanent.
The chill, relaxed Art + Astrology practice is a great technique to try, but if you want to have a 1:1 conversation where I’ll share the techniques that help my clients get out of endlessly processing so they can have more peace and create more beauty in the world, I’m offering an epic deal on single session coaching calls in November.
Let's talk it out!
This coaching session is for you if you feel like there's something grasping around your heart or your throat and that little bugger is stopping you from pursuing your vision and creating your work.
You'll leave this session feeling lighter, more motivated to create, and with 1-2 new strategies for processing those stuck feelings so you can always come back to your authentic voice.
